The Pink House is located
on Plum Island Turnpike in Newbury, MA and is one of my favorite houses. It is also a favorite spot for Snowy Owls to
rest on cold winter days - many Snowy Owls have been seen sitting on the rooftop
of The Pink House over the years! One of
these days, I will have my camera with me to capture this scene but until then I
will enjoy the rustic beauty of The Pink House each time I travel to and from
Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.
Cumberland Farms (or
Cumbies) is located south of Boston and is a wonderful place to bird any time
of year. This afternoon a few friends
and I went to look for Short-eared owls.We saw at least six owls hunting the fields as well as Northern harriers,
geese, ducks, and a beautiful sunset!Cumbies
is a nominated Important Bird Area.
